Happy Birthday Darling
9.9.99
I remember that day, 9.9.99. Nice date. How I wished my due date would be that day. But according to my doctor, its not going to happen for the next 3 weeks.
10.9.99
We just bought our baby cot. The white baby cot I've always wanted.
My mother in law was at home. After work, I felt very tired and I fell asleep on the sofa.
After maghrib, my sister in law came to fetch my mother in law. Then we went out to pasar malam to buy dinner. I slept again after dinner.
At 11 pm, I woke up and felt nauseous. Run to the kitchen sink and poured my tummy content. Must be the pasar malam food... so we thought.
I went to the bathroom later and spotted a blood stain. I didn't feel any pain or discomfort though.
Encik ID insisted we went to the hospital for check up. Just to make sure that everything is fine.
At 12 am, we went to the hospital which is only about 10 minutes away. Half way, I've forgotten my ic. Turned back home and finally reached the hospital at almost 1 am.
We told the nurse that I had blood stain. They admitted me for observation and call my gynae. In the mean time, the nurse did her usually checked up and said " you are 5 cm dilated. We will send you to the labour room and call your gynae now".
I insisted I can walk to the labour room but they said "NO...!! You can give birth anytime now!". So the wheeled me in.
In the labour room, I started to feel the discomfort. On and off. The nurse came and checked on me from time to time. The gynae was still on her way.
The nurse asked me to lay on my side instead and keep my legs together and that was when I started to feel the pain. "You need to wait for your doctor" she said.
My doctor came and in less that 15 minutes after that, at 2.37 am, 11.9.99, Ms A, our bundle of joy came into this world.
It was very quick and the whole experience shocked me. I was shivering after that may be because I never expected it to happen that day and everything happened so fast.
Nevertheless, all was forgotten once I saw her face, felt her skin, smell her baby skin.
She changed our world. She changed us from "spur of the moment" kind of couple to a more matured adult. We became more risk averse, we started to plan for the future. Our life persective changed. Its no longer about just the two of us, everything we do, we have to consider another being. A very precious being.
14 years passed by. Today, our baby is a little lady.
To Ms A. My love, princess of my heart, my precious......
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Darling.
Mummy, Papa and Ms M love you to bits.
Ya Allah...
Kau lindungilah kesayangan kami ini di dunia dan di akhirat
Kau peliharalah imannya.
Kau permudahkan urusan nya
Kau lapangkan lah hidupnya
Jadikan lah dia anak yang solehah dan hamba mu yang taat.
Ameen
